I chose the MarkV Deluxe because I am ‘old school’ favoring rifles made of fine exhibition wood & blued steel…I tend to dislike the new plastic configuration of today’s rifle trends. I procured my Weatherby MarkV Deluxe chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor in 2020. If you are looking for a true shooter, with a great trigger, and beautiful looks then Weatherby is the ticket. Only have three of the Vanguards but they are still just as accurate as the Mark v’s. My older 257 I named AT&T because all you need is name and address of the critter. You can’t go wrong with Weatherby Mark V Deluxe rifles.
That’s because of the sound they make on open ground long range shots. The guys in our hunting club used to say, “when you hear that Weatherby bacon frying, it’s meat on the ground”. I hand load most of my ammo and only use Norma powder in most of them for great results. This will make two 257’s in my collection along with two 300’s. Can’t wait to see it in all of its glory and beauty. I have on order another 257 Deluxe that should be here soon. I have taken everything from squirrel to Elk with my Weatherby Mark V rifles and can tell you that they are the best. Started collecting Weatherbys some twenty years ago and now own a very beautiful collection.
