It took me many more years to find a reasonably priced used cd copy (as in under $200 reasonable), but for many years it was these burned copies, and the heavily traded 67 radio broadcasts that I went back to over and over again.
I will admit to loving the 73-75 band almost over zealously, but there is just something about his last acoustic lineup, and the groundbreaking performances they made during a couple of years. Though it wasn't until I found a copy of the Complete Plugged Nickel and my local library in the late 90's that I fully embraced this band. This period of Miles was my introduction, the 65-68 Studio box was my very first MD purchase. Anyway, after finally watching 'Miles Ahead' on Netflix (which I thought was brilliant, and totally fit the mood and artistry of MD), I was inspired to dig out the 2nd Quintet boxes and play them through. I wanted to chime in about this amazing collection, but all previous discussions are locked (due to age?).
